Born in Hong Kong and raised in the United States from the age of nine, David grew up between two worlds – East and West – shaping a vision that transcends borders. His father, Hing Wa Lee, founded the family business in 1965, laying the foundation for what would one day become a luxury empire.

After earning his degree from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business in 1992, David joined the family enterprise with an ambitious mission: to reimagine legacy through the lens of modern elegance. What once began as a humble wholesale gallery would soon evolve into a destination for connoisseurs – a sanctuary for horological and jewelry artistry.

In 1993, David transformed Hing Wa Lee Gallery into Hing Wa Lee Jewelers, a world-class retail house that today represents over 25 of the world’s most prestigious maisons, including Rolex, Tudor, and Breitling.

The showrooms in San Gabriel and Walnut became architectural odes to sophistication, where every surface reflects the spirit of craftsmanship and prestige.

2024 marked a new chapter in the Hing Wa Lee legacy with the debut of Larchmont Jewelers in the heart of Hollywood – a boutique that merges heritage with contemporary allure. Under David’s visionary leadership, the company ascended to the ranks of the Top 10 Luxury Retailers in America, as recognized by Leading Watch Retailers, and received the title Independent Watch Retailer of the Year 2024 by WatchPro – the industry’s own Oscar.

Yet, David’s ambitions extend far beyond retail. Through Brilliant Realty, the Hing Wa Lee Group expanded into real estate – from development and brokerage to property management – building spaces that echo the same refinement found in his jewelry salons. His investment portfolio mirrors his diverse passions: collectible blue-chip Ferraris through Collectible Exotic Motors, beverage ventures, cutting-edge technology startups, education initiatives, and his own lifestyle label, Monza Design. Each pursuit reflects a global vision anchored in innovation and integrity.

A devoted advocate for mentorship and leadership, David has spent over eight years on USC’s Marshall School of Business Board of Leaders, guiding young entrepreneurs and lecturing on family business and the art of legacy. He also founded Titan Education, an elite leadership club nurturing the next generation of innovators through exclusive mentorship and hands-on experience.

Beyond business, David’s commitment to community shines just as brightly. A member of YPO (Young Presidents’ Organization) for over 18 years and Chair of The CEO Club, he continues to connect and inspire leaders across continents. His civic engagement is equally profound – appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom in 2023 to the California Volunteers Commission, and earlier by Governor Gray Davis to the Small Business Reform Task Force.

In 2024, David and his wife, Katherine, made a transformative gesture in the fight against homelessness with a $1 million gift establishing The David and Katherine Lee Home, part of the Door of Hope initiative – a testament to their belief that true leadership is measured not only by achievement, but by compassion.
