Raffles Maldives Meradhoo, opening in 2019, is located in the eastern part of the Maldives in the Gaafu-Alifu Atoll in the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean.

Raffles Maldives Meradhoo will be the first resort of the legendary Raffles Hotels & Resorts in the Maldives. The new resort is an extension of the legendary Raffles

Hotel chain, which opened its doors in 1887, in one of the most private and exclusive corners of the world. In this tranquil harbor, surrounded by lush greenery and a white beach, guests can relax and enjoy the harmony of the natural environment.

Gaafu Alifu Atoll – one of the largest and most magnificent atolls in the world, with the greatest diversity of marine life in the Maldives. In addition, the clean and warm waters near the resort’s shore attract a variety of marine life and exotic fish. Here you can meet Apollo, one of the 20 rare sea turtles of Bissa, and the green turtles that often come out to greet guests.

The island is home to Raffles Maldives Meradhoo Resort, which occupies two separate islands:

Artistic design is one of the key features of Raffles Hotels & Resorts internationally. The interior design of Raffles Maldives Meradhoo is also an expression of the brand’s philosophy through the use of exclusive local artwork focusing on nautical themes, Maldivian island landscapes and environmental materials. The resort’s design was developed using the principles of Feng Shui and Biophilia. The resort’s exclusive Destination Dining experience offers a new concept in staffed service: Guests at Raffles Maldives Meradhoo can meet the resort’s chefs and request a special staffed menu based on their preferences.

The Raffles Spa Center is located on two main islands. Treatment programs combine Nordic practices with traditional, time-honored Maldivian methods. Guests can also indulge in innovative and customized facial and body treatments by Biologique Recherche, as well as specialized body care treatments by Aromatherapy Associates and signature manicures and pedicures by Margaret Dabbs London. The resort’s spacious fitness center is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, and the terrace overlooking the ocean is used for yoga classes. The Raffles Spa philosophy is based on three core elements: design, food and rituals to help guests combine relaxation and wellness.

The resort has 38 beautiful villas with private pools. Both the beach and water villas are among the lightest in the Maldives, offering great independence and uninterrupted service.

The Sea Butlers, who work at the resort and are not available at any other resort in the Maldives, are true curators of the Maldives’ unique marine ecosystem and can share their expert knowledge of local marine life with guests.

• An innovative training program has been developed by the resort’s own marine biologist, Dr. Sonia Valladares.
• Anyone can snorkel with a mask and snorkel to explore the prehistoric reefs with a marine butler while listening to fascinating stories about the life of the ocean’s inhabitants.
• Guests are provided with GoPro cameras to help collect data for the resort’s sea turtle photo identification project and, understandably, to turn the experience from a fascinating bore.
